Brush up on those American Sign Language Finger Spelling signs. I created the first iteration of this application back in June of 2001 when the developer release of Flash 4 for Pocket PC. I had nearly forgotten about it until recently. I revisited the application and updated the colors for better viewing, and also created a Flash Lite 1.1 version for devices capable of supporting Flash Lite 1.1. I have tested this application on a Nokia 6600 and it works great. The PPC version has been left at Flash 4 - yes there is a Flash 6 player for PPC, but other devices such as certain Palms and other device should also be able to use the Flash 4 based version. My wife Melissa used to teach sign language to children and adults at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia (http://www.psd.org/). Thats what originally inspired this tiny application. I dedicate this application to Melissa for her incredible patience with children, and me. :) Rob ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- License Information: This work is licensed under Creative Commons License Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/ Distribution info to be found at: http://www.impossibilities.com/asl/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Macromedia Flash Player Information: Pocket PC Flash Player Info: http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/devices/pocket_pc.html Pocket PC Flash Player CDK for Developers: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=pocketpccdk Flash Lite 1.1 Player Info http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashlite/ Flash Lite 1.1 CDK For Developers: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=flashcdk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Books and Resources: Flash Enabled: Flash Design and Development for Devices http://www.impossibilities.com/blog/store/details.php?asin=0735711771 http://www.flashenabled.com/book/ Bill Perrys Site; http://FlashDevices.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special Thanks: Melissa Hall, Bill Perry, Phillip Torrone, Ian Chia, Troy Evans, Mike Chambers, Greg Burch, Tom King, Darron Schall, Ted Patrick, Talisman+Interactive Team: James Flaherty, Don Fisher, Craig Johnsonm, Mike McDonald, Max Liberman
